Bexley's VIP try-dive 2009
Bexley Sub Aqua Club were honoured with a special visit by the Mayor of Bexley, who took the plunge back in February to dive with us in a try-dive session. The offer was taken up when the Mayor of Bexley along with Mayor of London Boris Johnson met Mick Edwards at the official opening of the new Sidcup Leisure centre last October. Never one to miss a trick Mick offered both Mayors' a taste of scuba with the Bexley Mayor, Councillor Nick O'Hare, taking up the offer. The Mayor, guided by Richard Nokes certainly seemed to get stuck in and enjoy the dive, for his "first and probably not last taste of scuba". He was a good sport and was happy to pose for pre-dive photos wearing the official Mayor's chains of office. Who knows, we may even have a future member in the making.
